How to get the best out of your SUGAR FACTORIE product

Thank you for purchasing from Sugar Factorie.

Here are our tips on how to get the best out of your Candle, Reed Diffuser or Wax Melt.

Candles

  • Before lighting, trim wick very short. We recommend approx. 1-2mm

  • When you light your candle you need to let it burn until the liquid wax reaches the edges of the container. Depending on which SF product you have, this could be between 1 -2.5 hours. This is to avoid creating a tunnel, where the wax only burns down the centre of the container and doesn't reach the sides.

  • Take care with a flame, keep well away from pets, children, flammable materials, open doors and windows, direct sunlight.

  • Never move a lit candle, liquid wax is HOT !

  • To get the best out of your wick, use a wick dipper to gently push the wick into the liquid wax to extinguish, then stand the wick back into position. This will reduce smoke after extinguishing.

  • Before lighting again, allow the wax to completely cool and trim the wick short again.

  • If you have purchased an SF candle with a lid, place the lid on only when candle is fully extinguished.

  • Once the wax has burned down to approx. 2cm from the bottom of the container it's time is done. Extinguish and recycle container.

Reed Diffusers

     To set up reed diffuser:

  • Unscrew black collar on bottle neck

  • CAREFULLY remove clear plug from bottle (taking care not to spill any liquid!)

  • Replace black collar

  • Insert 3-5 reeds into bottle

  • More reeds = fragrance intensity, so start with 3, then after 24hrs - if you are wanting a stronger fragrance - insert 2 more. After 3 days rotate reeds and add more if a stronger fragrance is required.

  • Flip reeds over - using a tissue or gloves to avoid skin coming into contact with the liquid.

  • Flip reeds every 3 days (approx) to maintain fragrance.

  • Replace reeds when no longer absorbing oil.

  • Re-fill bottle when fragrance has reduced down

      SAFETY:

  • Keep out of reach of children and pets

  • Avoid contact with skin and eyes

  • Do not ingest

  • People with perfume sensitivity should be cautious when handling this product

  • USE GLOVES when handling used reeds

  • Do not attempt to light reeds

  • Avoid spills on any surface or material.

  • Wipe with damp cloth immediately

  • If skin contact occurs wash area immediately.

Melts

  • Wax melts are for use in Melt burners and melters only.

  • Place 1 or 2 pieces of Wax Melt into the container, depending on size of melting dish.

  • If unsure, always start with 1 piece and add another once wax has melted.

  • SF Wax Melts can be mixed: place 1 piece of each fragrance in the melt burner to create your own combination.

  • When using a melt burner, only use small tealights.

  • Follow the same safety instructions as candles: keep out of reach from pets and children.

  • The same wax melt can be re-used several times before the fragrance fades. Once fragrance has faded, remove solid wax from dish* and replace with new wax melts.

* To remove wax, place cooled dish in freezer until wax separates from the dish and can be discarded.

There are lots of other ways to remove wax. However you choose, please be careful. Liquid wax is HOT !
